Main road Terschelling 100 years
The 14.5 km long Main Road of Terschelling was paved in 1910. An important initiator was financial benefactor A. C. A. Eschauzier, who was a grandson of Mayor Eschauzier. The state and the province have contributed. After the construction of the hardening a memorial stone was placed that first stood behind 'T Waakend Oog, Het Wachthuuske on West-Terschelling. In 1950 this stone was moved to the end of the Main Road near the Dwarsdijk in Oosterend. In 2010, the 100th anniversary was celebrated during a party weekend. Besides placing pictures of the old situation along the main road, the play Ynè autobus was also performed. The registration of this play can be found on this website in the category Theatre. The foundation 100-jarige Hoofdweg has commissioned the making of this film.
