Ringing spoonbills on Griend
The bird island Griend is located in the Wadden Sea between Harlingen and Terschelling. The island is managed by Natuurmonumenten. The owner is Staatsbosbeheer and the mayor of Terschelling is Lord of Griend. Various bird species, including spoonbills, breed on the island. Young spoonbills are ringed here to investigate migration routes. Harry Horn of the Werkgroep Lepelaar talks about the ring test of spoonbills. In addition, images can be seen of the ringing in 2016 on Griend.
