Terschelling Forestry Commission From Tree To Bank
How is a picnic bench made? And where do the picnic benches come from that we can buy in the store? Students of the OBS and CBS 't Jok on Terschelling were able to follow the entire process from start to finish. First, together with forester Oene of Staatsbosbeheer Terschelling, they chose a tree in the forest, which was then cut down. The following week, under the watchful eye of the students, planks and beams were cut from this tree for the construction of two picnic benches. The students made part of the benches themselves. The benches are now on the schoolyard so that the children can make good use of them during the break!
