Tree marking with the "Buren" 2012
Staatsbosbeheer attaches great importance to communication with its immediate environment. Before a (motor) saw is started, there is first consultation with those directly involved. Not just explaining the plan and seeing how the response is, but entering into the conversation. It is nice that there are almost no different opinions about the question of what a beautiful forest should look like. Often the question is: how do we get there, what should you do or not do. In a crash course, those involved receive instructions about a more beautiful forest with more tree species. For example, the Thick Tree is interesting for walker, woodpecker and carpenter. But there are also the Mad Trees, Dumb and Smart trees. The crystal ball question is: "What happens if you do nothing?" The forest will remain alive, but it looks different than we want. Hence the blaze action in the Formerummer forest on Terschelling. Result to be seen from February 1, 2013.
