Opening of the fire layer of 1666 and exhibition museum 't Behouden Huys The Sporen in het Zand Foundation has permanently made visible part of the original fire layer that was created after the great fire of West-Terschelling in 1666. In connection with the commemoration year, 't Behouden Huys made visible the real burning layer that remained 350 years ago, after the burning of the village. This is a permanent monument in the street with an information panel about the fire of 1666. Moreover, the monument is a direct reference to the 1666 exhibition in the museum itself.
